Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) is most commonly triggered by exposure to an extreme traumatic stressor, involving direct experience of death or serious harm, actual or threatened. An experience of intense terror or helplessness is what an individual feels. Classic symptoms can range from repetitive and intense memories, nightmares, flashbacks, and insomnia.

PTSD & Cannabis

Statistics has shown that military veterans (1 in 5) have a high propensity to develop PTSD. Anti-depressants and anti-psychotic medications may not always provide relief from the effects of PTSD. Our bodies have a natural endocannabinoid system and research has found that individuals who suffer from PTSD have low levels of anandamide, an endogenous cannabinoid compound. This compound triggers the receptors in the central nervous system that are activated by THC. By using medical cannabis to replaces those missing compounds patients may have the chance to have relief from their painful memories.
